Policies for All Treatments

• Most Sev Skin treatments, including laser treatments, microneedling, and cosmetic injections, cannot be performed while you are pregnant, nursing, or trying to become pregnant. 
• Prior to your appointment, notify us of medical conditions and medical history in your Patient Intake Form and in any health evaluations. 
• If you are under the age of 18, you must arrive at your appointment with a parent or legal guardian to receive laser services. Minors are not eligible to receive cosmetic injections or microneedling at any of our studios. 
• The practice of medicine is not an exact science and no guarantees can be made concerning the results of such procedures; therefore, there will be NO refunds for any treatments received.
• For all treatments, practice sun avoidance and apply SPF consistently & daily throughout the duration of your full treatment process, as well as before and after as indicated in your treatment instructions.
• Please be advised of our Cancellation/No Show policy. Cancellations made within 48 hours or less of the scheduled appointment will incur a fee equal to 50% of the Single Service price for the scheduled treatment(s). If relevant, the number of services remaining in your pre-paid Package or Memberships will not be affected.
• This Cancellation/No Show policy applies to all clients. Clients who miss their appointment without prior notice will also be subject to the policy.
• While we will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, clients who are more than 5 minutes late to their appointment may be subject to the late cancellation fee.
• All cancellations due to pre and post-procedure care negligence may result in cancellation fees. 
• Please note all pre-paid packages and memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. All deposits are non-refundable, non-transferable, and may not be transferred to be used for a different service than what was originally intended.

Laser Hair Removal and Laser Facial

Under the circumstances outlined below, we may have to cancel or reschedule treatment for your own safety. Please review this list closely: 

• You are under 14 years old, or under 18 without the presence of a legal guardian
• You have tanned (including self-tanner) or had unprotected sun exposure in the 2-4 weeks before the appointment
• Pregnancy: You are currently pregnant, nursing, trying to conceive, or undergoing fertility treatment 
• Medical conditions: Photosensitivity disorders, cancer, autoimmune disorders, advanced diabetes, bleeding disorders, seizures triggered by light, any active infection or broken skin in the treatment area
  
  • Let us know if you have a thyroid condition, heart problems, or pigmentation disorders, as these may be contraindicated in specific cases
• Medications & supplements in the listed time period before any laser appointment: 
  
  • Oral isotretinoin (Accutane) or immunosuppressants 6 months before treatment
  • Antibiotics, anticoagulants, or St. John's Wort 14 days before treatment
  • Iron 65 mg or greater 3 days before treatment
  • Please consult your physician before stopping any medications
• Skincare & topical treatments in the listed time period before any laser appointment: 
  
  • Retinol or retinal, benzoyl peroxide, AHAs (glycolic, lactic, or mandelic acid), BHAs (salicylic acid), and other chemical exfoliants in the 7 days before treatment
  • Tretinoin (Retin-A): 14 days before treatment
• Recent professional treatments in the listed time period before appointment: 
  
  • Injections (e.g., Botox, fillers): 7 days before a laser facial or 14 days before laser hair removal
  • Facials or body treatments (non-invasive): 7 days before a laser facial or 14 days before laser hair removal
  • Other laser treatments: 14 days before treatment
  • Microdermabrasion: 7 days before a laser facial or 14 days before laser hair removal
  • Microneedling: 14 days before a laser facial or 4 weeks before laser hair removal
  • Chemical Peels: 4 weeks before treatment

Cosmetic Injections 

Under the circumstances outlined below, we may have to cancel or reschedule treatment for your own safety. Please review this list closely: 

• You are under the age of 18
• You are currently pregnant, nursing, trying to conceive, or undergoing fertility treatment 
• Have active infections, inflammation, or broken skin in the treatment site
• Have a known allergy or sensitivity to botulinum toxin (Botox^®, Xeomin^®), hyaluronic acid or other dermal filler ingredients, human albumin, or cow's milk protein
• History of neurological disorders, including but not limited to Myasthenia, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome, or Parkinson's disease
• Currently experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms 
• Recent Aesthetic Procedures:
  
  • Microneedling, laser treatments, or chemical peels 2 weeks before treatment
• Medications & Treatments within the listed time period before the appointment
  
  • Isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last 6 months
  • Antibiotics such as tetracycline, doxycycline, and minocycline within 2 weeks of treatment
  • Vaccinations or immunizations within 2 weeks of treatment
  • Dental procedures within 2 weeks of treatment 
  • Blood thinners/anticoagulants such as Coumadin (warfarin), Heparin, Plavix, Eliquis, Xarelto, Pradaxa within 7–10 days of treatment
  • Recent use of immunosuppressants (e.g., prednisone, corticosteroids, biologics such as Humira®, methotrexate) without physician clearance
  • Other medications (topical tretinoin, muscle relaxants, NSAIDs, etc.) must be discontinued 24-72 hours prior to the appointment

SkinPen^® Microneedling 

Microneedling is not recommended in the following circumstances. Sev Skin reserves the right to refuse or reschedule your treatment at the provider’s discretion: 

• You are under the age of 18 
• You are currently pregnant, nursing, trying to conceive, or undergoing fertility treatment 
• Skin Condition: Active skin cancer, fungal, bacterial, or fungal infection, inflammation, or raised moles in the treatment area
• Allergies: Known allergy or sensitivity to stainless steel or hyaluronic acid
  
  • Please let your provider know if you're allergic to lidocaine or other topical anesthetics
• History of hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorders or hemostatic dysfunction, uncontrolled diabetes, wound healing deficiencies, keloid or hypertrophic scarring, vascular diseases or cardiac abnormalities, and scleroderma
• Recent Aesthetic Procedures: 
  
  • Intense skin resurfacing treatments (i.e., dermabrasion, ablative laser resurfacing, or deep chemical peeling) 1-3 months before treatment 
  • Other microneedling procedures 4 weeks before treatment 
  • Laser hair removal or cosmetic injections 2 weeks before treatment 
• Medications & treatments within the listed time period before the appointment
  
  • Radiation therapy within 6 months
  • Isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last 6 months
  • Immunosuppressive therapy within the last 6 months
  • Blood-thinning medications (e.g., Coumadin/Warfarin, Heparin, Plavix) within the last 2 weeks
  • Systemic steroids within 2 weeks of treatment
  • Antibiotics: specifically tetracycline or doxycycline (timing per provider assessment)

Clear + Brilliant^®

Under the circumstances outlined below, we may have to cancel or reschedule treatment for your own safety. Please review this list closely: 

• You are under the age of 18
• You are currently pregnant, nursing, trying to conceive, or undergoing fertility treatment 
• You have tanned (including self-tanner) or had unprotected sun exposure in the 2-4 weeks before the appointment
• Medical conditions: Vitiligo, history of keloid scar formation, cancer diagnosis or malignancy, actinic keratosis, melasma in treatment area, inflammatory rosacea, autoimmune disorders, such as HIV, lupus, or scleroderma, sensitivity to light
• Medications & Treatments within the listed time period before the appointment
  
  • Isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last 6 months
  • Systemic steroids within the last 6 months
• Recent Aesthetic Procedures: 
  
  • Microneedling, laser treatments, cosmetic injections, CoolSculpting, chemical peels or other skin resurfacing treatments within 2 weeks of treatment

DiamondGlow^®

Under the circumstances outlined below, we may have to cancel or reschedule treatment for your own safety. Please review this list closely: 

• You are under the age of 18
• Have active severe acne, inflammatory rosacea, infection, open lesion, or cold sore in the treatment area
• Have an active sunburn in the treatment area
• Have skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, or rashes in the treatment area
• Have a history of immune suppressive conditions due to: Infections (HIV/AIDS), metabolic/disease states, drugs/medications, or immunodeficiency diseases
• Have an allergy to nickel
• Have a salicylate or aspirin sensitivity (only contraindicated for treatment with the SkinMedica Pore Purifying Pro-Infusion Serum)

Radiofrequency and Radiofrequency Microneedling 

Under the circumstances outlined below, we may have to cancel or reschedule treatment for your own safety. Please review this list closely: 

• You cannot be pregnant, nursing, trying to become pregnant, or under the age of 18
• You cannot have any skin or body treatments if you have taken isotretinoin (Accutane) or immunosuppressants in the past 6 months.
• You cannot undergo Potenza or Morpheus8 if you have a pacemaker or other electronic implants, diabetes, and other health conditions that can impact healing.
• Please reschedule if you currently have any open sores, wounds, or active infection at the treatment area.
• You cannot have radiation therapy, laser therapy, exfoliating facial treatments, microdermabrasions, or chemical peels for at least 2 weeks before and after treatment.
• You cannot have taken antibiotics anytime in the 2 weeks prior to your appointment or iron supplements for 72 hours prior.
• Please come without any makeup on and with the treatment area clean and shaved.
• Stop using resurfacing skin care products or medications like retinoids and exfoliating acids for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. Keep the treatment area clean and moisturized.
• Avoid intense exercise, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, or hot showers for 24-72 hours post-treatment.
• If undergoing Morpheus8 or Potenza, do not apply makeup or scented products for 24 hours after your treatment.
