Yes, SkinPen is a targeted, FDA-approved microneedling device. We treat the skin at anywhere from 0.25 to 1.25 mm depth.
The number of sessions you’ll need depends on your skin’s starting condition and your desired results. One treatment can offer subtle skin rejuvenation, but more dramatic scar or wrinkle reduction will require at least 3-6 sessions spaced approximately 4 weeks. You may see better results by combining SkinPen with treatments like the Laser Facial.
Yes! SkinPen’s safety is well-established through clinical data, which is why it’s the first FDA-cleared microneedling device. When used by a trained provider, it’s a safe and effective treatment for skin texture, wrinkles, and scarring. Because it doesn’t involve any light or heat, it’s safe for those prone to hyperpigmentation.
SkinPen treatments at Sev Skin include topical numbing to prevent discomfort.
The exact timeline will vary from patient to patient, and you may need several sessions if you’re looking to treat significant texture or signs of aging. Generally, you can expect to see SkinPen microneedling results show up one to two months after your last treatment, with continuous improvement up to 6 months after your final treatment.
If you’re getting SkinPen to reduce texture and acne scars, the effects will last indefinitely. If you’re looking to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity, we recommend getting quarterly maintenance treatments to slow the natural aging process once you’ve achieved your desired results.
No, SkinPen is not recommended while pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
